Remembering James Donovan

Senator James Donovan is remembered for many things, primarily his 25-year service as New York State Senator. He was described as a “man of principle and courage” by majority leader Ralph J. Marino.

Senator Donovan is also remembered as a man who fought determinedly to remove Medicaid funding for abortions from the state budget, as well as being a supporter of the death penalty. Mr. Donovan has also made an exceptionally long-lasting contribution to education in the state of New York.
