Utica’s Senator James H Donovan Middle School

This school is open for 6th to 8th graders living in the Utica City School District.  The state test results gave it a rating of 3 out of 10 in the GreatSchools Rating but it has received an average rating of 3 out of 5 stars from the parental review.  This is a magnet school which is a public school offering a specialized curriculum or educational philosophy that usually has a specific focus or theme.  As well they attempt to “promote student diversity” as they accept students outside the regular school district boundaries.  By doing this, they are often attracting high caliber students through competitive programs.
